Hi,
I'm 72 yrs old. I am I have belonged to MyFitnessPal for about 10 yrs. I've dropped out and come back in over the years. I am 34 lbs lighter than I was when I started. I was 208 lbs. then and have never again gotten as big that, so this has helped me. I've never gotten down to where I think I belong which is about 150 lbs. My Dr. says even 160 would be ok because of my age. I started back in here in May and I am doing very well right now. I'm down to 175 now.
I'm an emotional eater, and whenever I'm down about something serious, I always head for the refrigerator. I haven't been able to break that cycle. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has the same problem could come up with some tips for me.

I clicked on your message because your name is Grandma Doris and I had a Grandma Doris who was absolutely amazing, but she passed away 22 years ago. I can relate to the emotional eating. Cooking and gathering for a meal is a big tradition in my family. Almost everything we do revolves around food, so it's hard to make good choices. I'm trying to introduce new foods to my diet and hope the choices I can make 80-90% of the time will add up to real changes. Good luck to you, Grandma Doris!0
