New to low acid diet

I'm looking for information on low acid diets. I have severe GERD and the meds have been worse than the GERD so I'm going to give the low acid diet a try. Thanks for any help!

Just figure out what foods trigger your GERD. For me, it is tomato sauces, beer and too much sugar. Eliminate those things and it goes away for me.2

Years ago I found a list of foods and their PH values. Higher PH being less acidic.
I found that gala & fuji were the lowest acid apples. Melon, bananas (although they bother some) and raspberries were low(er) on the acid scale.
The only soda I drink is A&W diet root beer, very low acid.
Chocolate (not because of it's acidity) is a trigger for me.
A book that helped me The Acid Reflux Escape Plan. Weight loss also helps many.1 -
If the meds make you feel worse you should speak with your doctor to switch you to a different drug. PPI's can take a few weeks to start working. I'm guessing with severe GERD this is what they put you on, as an H2 blocker is probably too weak. Protonix gave me nasty side effects while Prilosec suited me just fine. Stay the course when it comes to the drugs. They do the job lowering the acidity.
This might help you with the diet
