Struggles: Was really close to maintenance (1.6 lbs. away) about 10 days ago, at around 54.7 k (120.6); Since then I've totally stopped tracking and trying, so w is back up. I've had desserts and sweet breads, carelessly. Not binging but indulging without thought. Little exercise. It seems to be a reaction to stress.
Successes:
On my two running around days, when I work here and there, I get about 7000 steps in, without effort or thinking about it.
I need to get back to tracking. That helps a lot.13 -

I had pizza this week. It was soooooooo yummy. This was the first time I had pizza since I started my weight lost goal. I felt so guilty eating it even though it was within my calories intake for the day anyone else feel the same way?11 -

Successes/Struggles: I set me a challenge to complete 15 minutes minimum of hula hooping 6/7 weekdays in March. I hit 25 March sessions and averaged 18 minutes so I’m calling success.
My work has an April Step challenge (350000 steps in April) and if I make it (synced up my watch) there is a local company donating a pair of new shoes to a children’s charity for everyone who makes the step challenge. So I’m determined to make it.
This week my weight has been bouncing around like a rubber ball - over 10 pound difference between high and low. Dunno what is going on except I’m on antibiotics. We’ll see what next week brings.8 -

How long in maintenance: 3 weeks (3/10/18)

I have lost a little more since being in maintenance, but just to 160.8 as lowest so far. I weighed a low of 163 on 3/10 and it has not gone back above 164 since, but I want a little more cushion. I set 164 as my upper limit as that is where BMI = 24.9. If I want to increase the range, I need to lose more, not give myself permission to gain more, so I am very slowly doing that or at least try to making sure I don't do anything to get big swings up. I have the not so fun diagnostic procedure for the over 50 crowd coming up tomorrow, so I am on clear liquids only today and can't have anything until late afternoon tomorrow. So I probably will have another pound drop.6 -

OK, I'm a bit behind in my logging on here! Im setting this up as a placeholder and caught up on my averages. March was not a good month for weight management.
This morning my scales broke! It said "LO" and when I went to change the batteries, one of the little springs had broken off and can't really be fixed. So annoying. I just hope my next scales won't be too far off from my last weigh in.
Happy April! Better weather is coming to everyone soon!

I am REALLY NEW to maintaining and kind of afraid. My pattern before is, I get ALMOST to my goal of 130, don't look or feel as "pretty" as I want (as in, still fluffy and floppy), determine to exercise more, get discouraged or get injured, stop logging, and regain that 15-20 pounds.
I have done this three times on MFP, and countless times life long. I hate to think how many times I have lost the same 8-25 pounds. I am determined to do it differently this time, and saw this thread... I hope it is okay to jump in?

Sucesses/Struggles: Seems I've neglected this forum for about 2 weeks. And it seems my weight wants to keep going up. It's still in range, but I feel better 2-3lbs lighter. So I'm back to try and get it in the lower 140's again. I need to start making better food decisions and stop eating when full. Lately, I've been eating to eat. So, it's back to logging until the scale starts going down instead of up. And since it snowed again today - I see spring is taking it's good old time getting here. It's not quite warm enough for daily walks yet.
I hope you are all doing great!
I'll talk to you all next week. I hope you are all kicking butt and taking names.7 -

Much love to all my friends here.

Success/struggles of the week: I have maintained the same weight for four months in a row. So far my "maintenance" has consisted of staying the same average for a month or two then dropping down. Hopefully I have finally found my weight. I think I will stick with my stated range as 120 - 125 though. For some reason mentally it is easier for me to be just under my goal range. I'm afraid if I lowered my range I would feel the need to lower my weight down to the bottom of the range. As long as I am just under my range I don't feel so bad when my weight fluctuates because it stays in my range and I am more careful to eat more if I start to go lower. It is all mind games, but that is what works for me. I really appreciate having this thread.

I'm still struggling with disorganized eating and sugar cravings. As a result, I'm starting to have some fears of gaining. I'm going to plan out my meals for next week to help reduce some of the compulsive / habitual eating I do (ex: eating standing up, while cooking, etc.).5 -

Successes/Struggles: weight still seeing crazy jumps high and low. Food poisoning bout Tuesday night means this week’s data pretty much meaningless in big picture. I lost most Tuesday dinner ( by far my largest meal of day as I normally 17:9 Intermittent fast) but ate only crackers and ginger ale on Wednesday ( very high sugar and sodium compared to my normal diet). Doing fine now.
Food poisoning + need to eat something with antibiotics also meant this was a fail week for both 5:2 & 17:9 intermittent fasting.
Hoping weight stays here i.e. closer to mid 140’s than high end of my range. That puts me in normal weight by 3 metrics: waist to height ratio, waist to hip ratio and BMI. Would not object to slow slide into the 130’s (vanity and cushion) but not trying to eat at deficit.9 -

Success/struggles of the week: I'm hoping the above number is right. I got up my usual time and weighted in my usual way after the bathroom and no clothes. Then I laid back down for a few more winks well I woke up three hours later and just for the heck of it weighed myself again ( no bathroom break) and I was 2 pounds lighter. This also happened a few weeks ago when I got 3 hours later than my usual time. I just used my trend weigh. So which number do you think is correct.

@brightresolve I understand. Four years ago I lost 93 pounds but did not change how I ate afterwards and PROMPTLY regained it. This time I lost 95 pounds and have kept it off for the past 7 months. I attribute this to more education about nutrition, mindful eating and KEY to the whole thing is logging with MFP. I also exercise a lot more. Often I will input the meal in MFP before I eat it and will change what I eat accordingly. Remember, each day is a new day. Log it even if it shows that you over ate for the day. One thing is it will hold us accountable. Sorry for being so wordy. I say all this to say that, “YOU CAN DO IT!” Good luck.6

@Gutcutter500 thank you for your kind words! Good advice there - I have heard others say they intend to log for a couple of years after losing and with my history, that's my intention. I am kindof a data geek so still gathering the info to see what my "real" maintenance number will be. I totally hear you that the accountability is key!
And congrats on the 5K, nice work!0
