My son and husband are type one diabetics they are low carb/low sugar. We switched to equal for sugar 2%milk and sugar free snacks. Just be careful switching to sugar free these products have sugar alcohol and can cause you to have the trots until your body adjusts. Also eating gluten free items allows you to have a lather portion size. Count your carbs and stay away from fat free as these tend to have more carbs.0

Try stevia (avoid blends) when making a sugar switch but be aware that it’s more sweet tasting than cane sugar; and it gives some people indigestion but I have not yet had issues
Blends often have sugar alts that are controversial as far as long term health
I believe xylitol and Erythritol (stevia) are the preferred ones; equal, sweet and low, and the blended sweeteners should be researched to see if that’s something you want to ingest (personal choices)
