Hi there, I have a problem with binge eating, mostly at around 10pm-3am. But I'm trying to break the cycle as I have been gaining and gaining. But I get so hungry! It's probably because my stomach has stretched at this point, but do you guys have any tips to feel full at night so not binge? Thanks so much in advance!!

Save some calories for a nightly snack, then log everything you eat even if you go over. I'm a binger too, and I found that the more accountable I make myself and the more I have to think about what I'm eating the less likely I am to binge.

ETA: If I keep my hands and brain busy I'm less likely to binge, too, since I'm an emotional eater and boredom is a trigger for me. Find out why you're bingeing (emotional? Perhaps you're too strict with your calories during the day? Something else entirely?) Once you've identified the trigger you can better devise methods to control the bingeing.

Try sucking in cinnamon candy. It makes other food taste funny and it’s supposed to be an appetite suppressant.

Your stomach is elastic, don't worry, binging is a bad habit you can break, but you have to stop wanting to binge. Stop looking for healthy, filling snacks. Eat balanced meals, regularly, through the day, instead, accept not feeling constantly full, and then go to bed.

If I was wanting to binge, nothing is going to be healthy cos I will eat far too much of it. I find it better to distract myself by going out for a walk or doing some exercise.

If you are genuinely hungry, pay more attention to what you're eating the rest of the day you might not be eating enough calories or the right macro balance for your satiety.

Yeah, if I'm full on binge mode, healthy can take a back seat.

If I'm legit hungry or feeling "noshy" I usually go for baby carrots and/or celery w/salt. It's low cal, the crunch is satisfying, carrots are sweet, and salt/celery is yummy.

Note to self: buy more carrots and celery

Agree with the carrot post, that's one of my favourites but I go for full size, they take a while to chomp through, give you that crunchy satisfaction and are also a little sweet.

If you can get your hands on something like Icelandic Skyr yogurt this is super satisfying and low calorie.

If it is more of a habit try focus your mind elsewhere to get out of cycle, train your body to understand habits and hunger & don't forget to weigh and log the food before you eat it to ensure it fits in your calorie goal!
