My name is Allison. My weight loss journey started on November 30,2017. That’s the day that my 40 year old husband had a massive heart attack and almost died. It was a huge wake up call. He isn’t much overweight, non smoker, non drinker and no family history of heart disease. I on the other hand, 39 years old, 100lbs overweight, heavy smoker, with a family history of high blood pressure and heart disease. Something needed to change. Since then our whole family ( us and 4 daughters) have changed to a cardiac diet. Low carb low fat low sodium, no frozen or boxed foods. Everyone has transitioned very well to our new way of eating with minimal complaints. I’ve also quit smoking and joined a gym. I go to the gym 4 times a week and track my calories and macros on mfp religiously. I started at 250lbs and dropped quickly to 240lbs but have been stalled at that weight for several months now. It’s frustrating and discouraging that the scale seems to be stuck. However, I have dropped from a size 20/22 to a 16/18. I’m going to consider that a victory and keep working but I sure would like to see some pounds fall off. That’s my story
