Water rowers are not maintenance free and, when I was shopping for a rower, I came across too many complaints about things breaking, leaking and/or needing repairs.
I'm not sure that dusting the rowing machine really counts as maintenance. Mine has had one defect in 11 years. Given that was a tank seal that's not too bad.
C2 and WR do have a slightly different feel, and Concept does have significantly more market penetration. The latter point make it easier to pick up a C2 on the second hand market, although as already observed that's unlikely to be a significant financial saving.0
