So in January I started my diet and in February I started working out. I have lost 12.5 pounds and for the past three weeks I haven’t really lost anything! I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do about 25 minutes of (fast) walking on the highest incline, 40 minutes of the elliptical, and 30 minutes of different weights. I have just recently started doing higher levels on the elliptical and increased my speed on the treadmill. Any other tips? I’m feeling so discouraged

You talk about exercise a lot, but not much mention of your diet/calorie intake.

You lose weight by eating less calories than you burn, by whatever means you accomplish that. If you're not losing weight, you're eating too many calories - simple as that.

It's also worth mentioning that people sometimes see a stall or slight gain when they start a workout program, as your muscles retain extra water to help with the repair/recovery process.

Sorry I have been eating under 1700 calories since January which had me losing a little over a pound a week . I just cut down to 1500 yesterday. The weird thing was a month ago my weight went from 174 to 180 then a week later down to 172. Now my weight just keeps fluctuating and hasn’t gone below 173.

I don’t. I may need to get one because I’m really stumped. Most days I don’t even come close to consuming 1500 calories. I was steadily losing weight until I bumped up my exercises.

If the exercise is new water retention is common and can mask weight loss
