Only an additional 200 calories for maintenance?

I've been on 1520 calories a day (-1/2 pound week) since late January. I'm heading into a diet break for the next weeks and planning to eat at maintenance for 14 days. When I made the switch in MFP it reset my calories to 1720. What the heck - I thought I was eating at a 250 calorie deficit?! Why did I only get 200 calories?

That does make sense. I was thinking that calorie goal in MFP would adjust as I lost weight although mine never did. I've only lost 12 pounds so I assumed that the loss was too small to require a change.

So this means that when I go back into 1/2 pound/week deficit I'll only have 1470 calories/day? Yikes - I'm hungry just thinking about that....

I've been losing a bit more than 1/2 pound a week
I've averaged .75lb/week over the last 30 days, and .9lb/week the month before.
I've averaged 1556 calories/day over the last 30 days, and 1520 calories/day the month before.

    Maintenance should be 1970-1930?

Try it. Tweak up or down after 6 weeks

Sounds like a 1950 to 1975 eating goal based on past activity. Of course your activity might change a bit if you start feeling more energetic.
