"Creating New Exercise" on MFP App

If you cannot find your type of exercise in the MFP database and are using the "creating a new exercise" option on MFP, what is the best way to calculate the calories burned? This option asks you to enter how long (minutes), and then it asks for calories burned. Just wondering how others determine this?

I base it on another entry for an exercise I "perceive" to be of similar effort. For example, I set up TRX based on circuit training calories be a use the classes I took were structured in a similar way and I felt they required similar effort. Not super scientific but it works for me. Most form of exercise burn 6-10 cals per minute based on my stats. I adjust custom entries within that range based on the intensity I usually do. Remember all CI and CO numbers are estimates.0
