Am I eating enough?

Hi I'm Staci. I'm 31 and 5'3" I'm 145, wanting to be 141. I work At Whataburger so I'm very active at work. At home I do mild strength training, take weekly long walks, and i do a lot of the house work, cooking, and running errands. I'm a parent, my youngest turning 9 this year.
I'm also an addict. 6 months ago I quit smoking, 2 months ago I quit the heavy drinking, and this week I quit smoking weed.
I started doing 15 minutes of strength training to help stay focused. I take rest days only when I'm sore.
I started my journey this year at 146ish and I feel as though I'm not getting anywhere. In fact I think I gained 2 pounds (but I just started my period so I'm not surprised). I drink mostly water. Try to eat healthy, but the scale won't budge. My mom says I'm not eating enough. Is this true? Do I need to eat more? Or less? My average this week was 1300 calories a day. I need help

How do you determine how much you're eating? Do you weigh all solids and measure all liquids? Are you using accurate database entries?
If not, and if you're not losing (perhaps get a scale to weigh yourself regularly) , you're likely eating more than you think.... Unfortunately just "eating healthy" doesn't mean you're in a deficit to lose weight
ETA - is your profile pic current? You don't look like you have weight to lose...3 -
If you look at my diary you can clearly see I weigh and properly enter my food. That's a real pic of me, I'm in great shape, but I'm not in a healthy weight range lol.0

You only have 4 or 5 pounds to lose. It's going to probably be a slow process, and your weight isn't a stationary number - it's constantly shifting up or done by a few pounds, so you should probably lose the idea of an exact goal weight and instead think of a goal weight range.1

I can't see your diary.
If your pic is current, and you want to change your physique, I'd consider looking in to recomp instead of trying to lose weight...1 -
Oh lol you used to be able to see people's diary on here. I used this site to lose 33 pounds a few years back. My bad. When I calculate my weight it always says overweight. I hate that. I'm training my glutes right now to get a bigger butt, but idk if I need to lose or gain for that to happen.1

You're probably not eating enough if you are that active. I work a desk job, and workout 4 days a week. I average 10K to 15K steps a day. I totally stall on anything less than 1300 because I am not eating enough. Someone here suggested once that I wasn't eating enough and to increase my calories. Once I did, I started dropping again. Now I am anywhere between 1400 and 1700 depending on how intense my workouts are. I would find a reputable TDEE calculator online to see what you should be eating. This is the one I used and it got me moving again

You have to make your diary public for it to be visible.
You don't look like 145lbs to me, you look slim and not overly muscular. You will have a hard time gaining in a deficit - recomp would be a better option if you don't want to gain weight...2 -

If you want to gain muscle in the glutes, you would be better off eating at least at maintenance. Also following a progressive lifting program with focus on the glutes will give you best results, not just 15 min everyday type thing.1 -

I like that idea. The reason I'm starting at 15 is cause I am new to this type of strength training. I want to get the form down as well as give my muscles time to relax and rebuild on my rest days. I am at a beginners level. I am very muscular in the thighs, back, and shoulders lol don't let the waist and white girl butt fool you. Lol0 -

Strong Curves is a great glute focused program for example, and it isn't very long, maybe 45min per day, less if you cut down on the ab work and you do it 3x per week. There is a beginner program which you could start with.

Honestly just these 15 minutes and my thighs are so sore, but I will definitely look into it. I have knee problems from wearing heels when I was younger, so I don't think I'll get to lifting or anything.0

Definitely do what you are comfortable with and something you enjoy. But growing glutes is no joke.. so at some point if you want to grow serious muscle there, some type of progressive resistance training will have to take place. If that is something you want then maybe seeing a PT (if that is an option) in the future.0 -
Also I browsed through your diary, I see a lot of cups, tbsp, 0.3 a plate/slice, etc. You are likely eating more than you think. Especially calorie dense items like peanut butter should be weighed if you want your calories to be the most accurate.2

Yes, I lost over 30 pounds because I don't know how to weigh my food lol. This is about losing like 4 pounds while still trying to gain muscle mass on an area. Maybe you need to lose a bunch, but I've already done that. I'm working on health.3

Even IF I was eating more, it's not 1,000 plus calories more. I'd still be losing weight at some point. So when you wanna start giving me actual advice instead of a math lecture post more.....3

Wow, what a charmer.8

It seems like you know how to lose weight, so you know how to lose those few extra pounds but if you want to gain muscle eat at maintenance cals. You are in great shape so maybe don't worry too much about losing 4lbs.
If you were truly only eating 1300 cals a day on average you would be losing weight. I'm an inch smaller and maintain on 125lbs, I lose if I eat lower than 1800 calories (I'm lightly active/48yrs).0 -
okay so laying this down....youve been given perfect advice if your not losing your eating to much. If you dont like the answers thats fine just stay not losing, But theres no need to be rude to the people trying to help. Comparison if the thief of joy is a popular saying here....past you may have lost 30 pounds. good for you. But current you cant be compared to past you. Current you clearly needs to do something different, Whether you like it or not. Seems like your period has water weight attatched, As most do. So this entire thread could be kind of pointless and you just need time. That said food scales ARE amazingly eye opening, We wouldnt recomend it so highly if it werent. Once you get smaller things need to tighten up or its easy to overeat just enough to eat maintenance/slightly over as the margin of error decreases. Thats all people are saying not sure why your getting mad.
Summed up- if your not losing either
1. You are and just being to impatient expecting fast results
2. Are eating to much
3. Are, And periods hiding it
Thats really it Under no circumstance ever has someone not lost because they under ate, Ever. Simple7 -

Actually I'm trying to gain weight, but thanks.
Also I have been kind enough to take time and offer you very great advice, if you chose to be defensive about it that is your own issue. You came into this thread asking for help, why the last few lbs aren't budging. I am telling you why. Good luck on your journey.4
