Get out of the chit chat forum and go to the other forums to find tons of weight loss advice.

Weight loss is about having a calorie deficit. You can create a calorie deficit by reducing calorie intake, increasing activity (calorie burn) or both. Get a calorie goal from myfitnesspal.
You should probably start with just logging what you normally eat and sticking to your calorie goal. You want to eat in a way you can sustain. You can alter your diet in small steps like getting more protein or having more vegetables on your plate.

There are no secrets to losing weight other than eating less than you burn. Medication can make it harder to lose by messing with your appetite or energy levels, but that doesn’t make it impossible. And losing weight is largely diet, not activity.

Try thinking about why you’re struggling with losing weight. Forget about willpower or whatever - think practical. Do you eat to self-medicate? Do you see your weight as protecting you from something? Do you think you deserve to be fat and unhealthy? Does the idea of restrictive diets fill you with dread? Something is holding you back, and identifying that might be the first step to overcoming it.

Personally, I didn’t believe that I could ever successfully lose weight. I watched my mom and sister yo-yo diet all my life and couldn’t bring myself to diet if I was just going to regain again. I found a great deal of motivation reading about people who not only lost weight but kept it off. The National Weight Control Registry was a great first step, along with the book “Thin for Life.”

No matter what’s holding you back, it’s not weakness or lack of willpower! You can do this - good luck!
