Gain weight

Hey everyone, just recently my husband and I began working out about a month or two ago. I love strength and core training a lot. I had a baby a year ago and I’m just trying to tighten my core back while also gaining muscle.
I’m 4’11 and 104 lbs. I’ve always been a very tiny woman, so I’m getting confused on how to get those “gains”, especially around legs and butt (I already have a butt, however sagged after being pregnant and all) while maintaining a tighter core.
Again, I’m just super confused as to what and how I’m supposed to eat before and after work out and during the week as well.
I can’t seem to really find out and I’m not sure if I’m even asking correctly? Not sure if any of this makes sense but would love some help.
Thanks!

Since you are a good weight for your height, you could definitely benefit from recomping especially if your goal is to gain some and stay leaner. You basically eat at maintenance, lift weights, get adequate protein and you lose fat and gain muscle over time. More info here:

Alternatively if you want to gain, that is great too.. but with eating in a surplus, some fat gains will follow and some people get uncomfortable with this.
In either case you definitely want to follow a lifting program. Strong Curves is one that focuses on the lower body but many other great ones out there:
