Half and Half vs Whipping Cream and Ketosis

I am really trying with keto and have had some success tho I am still learning.
I thought I was doing the right thing by having half and half instead of milk but I just read a link that says not. And also that foods are not true to form on their nutrition on the containers? Ugh. so sugar has been holding me back unbeknownst to me.

I guess so and then it seems it has carbs tho it is saying on the carton 0 carbs..ugh frustrating to know but I thought there was something wrong because since I started half and half this week, I seem bloating, and not in ketosis. I wish I could just drink coffee black and tea..I might just have to do that. But then they say we need the fat in keto diets.0 -
Have you tried coconut oil or butter?2

I did. It was difficult for me.1 -
Yes it has not been easy but I am sticking with it, as it is the only thing to have moved the scale at all for me. Thanks.0

Less calories are what move the numbers on the scale. Macros are for satiety and performance.6

Well I have been able to cut the calories drastically with keto as I have been more satiated so works for me.0

That is what matters most!1

Yes it does indeed thanks for your insights.0

Heavy whipping cream also has carbs. Up to .5g per tbsp. They can lie and say zero. H&h is similar and is .5 to 1g. I used it when I was keto for 1.5 years. Because must have coffee, and calories matter.
If it fits your carbs, it's fine. Anything under 50g, is going to get you into ketosis. Some people can't handle dairy...but...It's only difficult regarding ketosis if you use too much and it takes up too many of your carbs or it causes you to go over your carb threshold, because you didn't know that H&H has almost 1g per serving. Otherwise, if you have the carbs, then use the H&H. It by itself (as in "just by it's ingestion") won't mess with ketosis.
Like another poster said, whatever keeps your calorie goal over time.

I use heavy whipping cream, but if I am eating out, that can be hard! Balance your macros, no matter what! You can handle a few extra carbs once in awhile if you get into a bind, but for the most part, bulletproof your coffee or tea with MCT, coconut oil, grass fed butter or heavy whipping cream (as a last resort...use the others whenever possible).
I will often use apple cider vinegar at the end of my day if I think that I have gone over my carbs. I find it helps me stay in ketosis (and I will even sometimes crave it!).
Good luck!2
