Gaining weight on weightloss diet

This is not the first time I’m struggling with this issue, so similar experiences and plain moral support is heavily needed!
It’s been my first week on proper weight-loss diet- 3meals + 1 fruit as a snack, total 1200kcal a day, mainly protein-based, decent amount of vegetables, plenty of water. No sugars, salt, fast food, alcohol, etc! And I am already feeling bloted, gassy, feel like gained at least 2kg of weight (not stepping on scale on purpose, that would ruin me).
That always happens to me when I try to sort my diet, as I come from starving myself, binging and then starving again, for a lomg period of time. Together with my PO we agreed on this diet + 3x/week high intensity workouts (been working out for years, regurarly).
Has anyone experienced similar weight-gains in first 1-2weeks of dieting? Did you overcome it? HOW!? Im close to being miserable and loosing all hopes, afraid to go back to avoiding food and hating myself for that.. damn. Such a dissapointment.

I think you should speak to your Doctor, that is not a normal way to think.9

Is that you in your profile pic?
Have you perhaps increased fibre? Vegetables you're not tolerating well? (broccoli, cabbage etc?)

Great, thanks!
I’m looking for anyone having same diet experiences at the beginning, and if that is an actual common effect. Does and when it goes away and diet starts to show result.
People. Who. Have. Been. There.

You haven't weighed yourself so you don't actually know how much, if any, weight you have actually gained...?14

Vegetables might be the reason you feel bloated or you might have intolerance to something you consume. Try some more balanced diet cause it seems like this won't suit you.5

If you enjoy struggling, it's great to have company! If you want to solve a problem, it's a good idea to investigate and come up with possible solutions. If you want results, it's a good idea to have measureable goal, and actually measure them.
ARE you gaining weight? (How can you tell if you aren't weighing yourself?) How are you logging your food intake?
The bloating can be caused by increased fiber intake.11 -
So you don't know for sure if you have gained weight, but you feel like it? I would say the increase in fibre and food volume possibly, if you increased the intensity/volume of your workouts that can make you hold on to water too. I gain at least 2-3lbs when I change my workout programs... after a few weeks the scale eventually cooperates.
It is worrisome when you say you come from starving yourself, binging and then doing it all over again, then hating yourself because you aren't seeing results. If these feelings have been continuing long term and are getting out of hand, it can help to talk to a professional/doctor about it.

Get off the roller coaster.
Losing weight is eating fewer calories than your maintenance PERIOD. You don't have to eat a ton of veggies, eliminate favorite foods, etc. But you do have to figure out how to make permanent lifestyle changes so the weight you lost doesn't keep coming back.
Look for small permanent changes.....skip the aggressive temporary ones.
Here's a maintenance calculator - http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/3 -
There are mistakes that people commonly make that cause them to not lose weight that we might be able to spot if you change your Diary Sharing settings to Public: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings3

Are you willing to share your stats and goals? I ask because your avatar would have a hard time losing any fat. Increased volume of food and constipation are likely to show up as extra weight and bloating. Increased exercise and water retention also do go hand-in-hand.4

I’ve just started eating healthily again. Target 1200 calories a day. Filling up on veggies - I like to feel full so that works for me. I also know the first 2 weeks I’ll feel really fat and bloated. And I know if I just stick with it that in 2 or 3 weeks I’ll notice a difference and I’ll feel slimmer and see the change in the scales, and that will motivate me to carry on.
I don’t weigh myself for the first 2 weeks of a new diet because I’ll gain weight if anything. It’s the impact of all those veggies, takes a while for my body to get used to all those healthy foods!
Stick with it for a couple of weeks. Drink plenty of water, eat healthy foods, count your calories and get down the gym if you can.
You know you’re eating better so the change will come. If in 3 weeks you’re not feeling better see your doctor to check everything is ok medically.
Good luck!5 -

The thoughts you have shared in this post are the same sorts of thoughts folks with eating disorders have regarding foods and eating them.
Please seek help from a clinician/therapist that treats folks with eating disorders. Eating disorders can become deadly. Hugs3 -
It’s because you are massively changing your diet in one go... your body isn’t used to it,it’s stressed, it will retain water, it can’t cope with the new food, it will bloat.
Ease you self into it, eat what you normally eat but reduce the calories, then as you get used to that start swapping out the less nutritional food for better choices and the high calorie options for lower calorie options and put yourself in a minor deficit
Just chill out and accept you are running in deep water, the harder you go, the slower it will be, just be consistent, methodical and take your time1 -

OP, be careful. There are certainly eating disorder flags in your post that almost nobody in here can really help you deal with other than to signal to you to (please) be aware of them.
But....with respect the very fair question, you can understand this outside of the more serious issue. It's been one week and you have not even measured. You have asked:Has anyone experienced similar weight-gains in first 1-2weeks of dieting? Did you overcome it? HOW!? Im close to being miserable and loosing all hopes, afraid to go back to avoiding food and hating myself for that.. damn. Such a disappointment.
and yet don't know if you even have weight gains. So just to answer the basic question, assuming you have gained weight: yes, it happens all the time. If you've been eating at a deficit and have gained weight, it is not fat. Anytime you change your routine you add stress. Your body responds to stress by retaining water. Especially by stress induced by an introduction or change of workouts. But, it also responds to stress induced by a diet change. When your body retains water, it does so naturally. And most of the time, particularly with regard to muscle repair, it's a good thing. That's why, if you spend any amount of time in these forums (I suggest you do) reading more than posting, you'll find that 1 week is not near enough time to make any judgements about your program.
The only judgement you should make in the first 4-6 weeks is whether your being compliant. And as @PAV8888 says, if that's your avatar, any weightloss you are shooting for will need to take time. If that is you, then change the 4-6 weeks to more like 8-10 before being able to judge even small progress. Your daily to weekly fluctuations will be bigger than change in fat you may be accomplishing....meaning you need time to actually see it.3 -

All of this ^.
And... it sounds like you are also adopting an overly restrictive “healthy” diet as well which likely will perpetuate your binge restrict cycles. You don’t need to cut out sugar, salt, fast food or alcohol. All of them can be part of an otherwise balanced, nutrient dense and calorie appropriate diet and eating them in moderation may help you stick with the plan instead if spiraling into former patterns.
Lastly - 1200 is an aggressive goal and it’s meant to be a NET goal which means when you do exercise you’re meant to eat back some of those calorie burns. Are you planning to do that?6
