Good morning, everyone!
I'm a returning user. So far, I've lost 38 lbs on MFP. I've created a new username for a couple of reasons, and am kind of starting fresh.
My hobbies are hiking, bicycling, and geocaching.
For some reason, I can't seem to upload a profile picture this time around, either via mobile or desktop. Nevertheless, I'd certainly welcome any friend requests... A lively news feed helps keep me motivated!

Harry, you have done really well and should be rightfully proud of what you have achieved.
I had previously lost 23.5kg using the app but even then the number of calories it suggested that I could consume was totally wrong. I would get told I could gobble down 2,200 calories a day to meet my target of 0.5kg per week. At that number of calories I would gain weight. I had to rest the calorie number to 1200 and then try and keep under that. 30 years ago I lost 38kg without this app. I worked 12 shifts 5 days a week and it was moderate to heavy work. I would swim 1km each day of the week or take a break and do a routine in the gym which was recommended by the trainer due to me having had a back injury that required surgery. I weighed everything I ate and wrote it all down. Even with the above physical activity I could only lose 0.5kg per week when I consumed 850 calories a day. Yep, that is starvation level but not it seems for me. An apple for breakfast, orange for morning break, lunch was an apple, carrot, tomato or sometimes a corn on the cob without any additions. Afternoon break was an orange. My dinner consisted of 250gm of dry fried fish (no oil) that reduced down to 200gms after cooking. I ate that for months until I reach my target weight. I would never have lost weight if I had followed a 2,200 or my new daily target of 2,450 calories. Are these calorie targets set for user health or because of possible litigation fears when someone takes too few calories or doesn't consume a balance diet. As for me, these targets don't work.1
