I am 4’11” and still a bit round. I measure two spots on my waist as my stomach still dips noticeably inward at the belly button. So I measur at it for the smaller part Of waist and just above to so can check progress. Used to weigh over 200 with much bigger measurements.
Weight 134
Waist at smaller point 35.5
Above 36.5
Hips 37
Bust 35
Pant size around an 8 with some variances. My work scrubs are small and get snug a tad at times and yet often end up having to pull them up. Getting to the point of using the 5th hole on lifting belt instead of the 4th. Slowly going in desired direction.0 -

Congrats on taking this step, but I'm puzzled as to how you didn't at least know your waist measurement. For us males, our pants size is waist measurement
yeah US sizing doesnt work that way in most brands for women. im a 12 in the jeans i normally wear. some brands im a 10. some a 14. yeah. go figure a waist size for that.
and vanity sizing exits for men too, just so ya know.

If you wear designer jeans/pants it goes by waist size.1 -
Im 177cm, around 5'9.5"
132 lbs
Bust 35
Waist 29

In clothes I'm a size 36-38 French/ European 34-36 depending, I'm not sure what it will be in Uk or US.
My waist in kind of square, my shoulders broad and hips narrow. In all, far from the desirable female curvy shape much clothes is made for, lol. So I have to test and try a lot, and fold and tuck. Or I sew things to make them fit

Does it?
So again, i bought a pair of 7 jeans, 100 cotton old school style. No strech.
Size 31 and they fit below my waist, at my hips. They are very flattering too
Anyways, my waist is a 32 right now as of today. My waist sits an inch over my belly button.
So how can a 31 7 jeans fit at my hips that are about 39 imches.
Im confused.1 -
I think they are 31 because they are designed to fit someone with a 31inch waist which based on general body proportions mean their hips are usually x inches greater than waist measurements. jeans tend to be worn with the top at hips rather than your actual waist.
In my prekid days I usually had to get clothes that had a higher waist taken in at the waist because I have a large bum (before it was considered a good thing). Low rise jeans were great for me. Post kids and if it’s high waisted which is better for my mummy tummy i sometimes need to size up for my waist and now have room at my hips. Either way I don’t seem to fit the normal body proportions as determined by the fashion industry.
