Since yesterday the steps linked via my Health app have not been adjusting the Exercise calories burned in the MFP app. The number of steps are syncing however the 0 is not changing why is this and how do I fix it?

I've been having the same issue since Friday - it seems like there are some widespread tech issues happening. You can find the latest announcements from the tech team here: https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/en/portal/topics/799774-announcements-from-our-tech-team/articles3

There is currently a trifecta of semi-related issues affecting the Food Diary, Recipes, and syncing.
I doubt the proximate cause was the actual data breach, but more likely MFP's attempt to make some changes to strengthen the security of the site that has messed up their software coding.
There is a workaround for creating Recipes posted in the relevant article linked below.
Website users can copy meals from other days or search the Food Database to add from there using the website until the favorites list issue is resolved. Another option is to add food to the Diary using the iOS or Android app. That seems to be working.
Although the syncing issues started because of scheduled maintenance between MFP and Fitbit, I am guessing that the issues with the MFP server/router that does the syncing with Fitbit likely affects other activity trackers and other synced program apps. I would guess once MFP resolves the issue, the syncing for all trackers should resume.
For the current status of technical issues, please see these articles, and search for answers to Frequently Asked Questions and other helpful articles, on the MFP Help/FAQ pages...

With no ETA available, it would be helpful if any alternatives were possible until they fix this. i.e. can steps be entered in manually? Do we have to enter a 'walk' exercise, even though those activities are time based, and not steps based...0

To my knowledge, all the tools previously available to us to log exercise directly on MFP are still available to us right now. Additionally, I've seen at least one person say today that activity logged on an UnderArmor app (specifically Map My Run) synced to their MFP account correctly.0 -

My MFP is also not syncing the steps from my Samsung Gear3 watch, same issue as OP. This is a bit frustrating, as there seems to be a ticket for FitBit but not for the Gear3/other trackers. I'm unsure if they are aware that other health trackers are unable to sync steps?1 -
Fitbit integration seems to be back for me.
Web based food logging of items that are newly added or re-added to the recent foods list seems to be working fine now. Items that were in the list and have not been recently added/re-added seem to be perma-broken but as your list re-populates things should get better.1 -
I've had general weirdness with syncing steps and calories from Google Fit.
Usually it will show my steps and add the corresponding calories to my allowance/target but If I do another activity, say Strava adds a cycling activity or Google incorrectly identifies a short (1-2 min) run and adds that as a separate activity, the Steps message will change to a generic 'MFP Calorie Adjustment' message and show as negative calorie adjustment (or 0 now that I've turned negative off).
One day I'd been particularly active and my equation ended up telling me I'd over eaten by 2000 odd calories when in fact I'd had a deficit of about 1000 calories that day:
Goal: 1900 - Food: 2400 - Exercise: 1550 = -2050 remaining.
vs
Goal: 1900 - Food: 2400 + Exercise: 1550 = 1050 remaining
I mean I know that its wrong and I can adjust my intake manually, but I'm using MFP as a historical record and those days where this happens are going to be inaccurate when I look back.1
