Exercise much or not exercise much?

I'm just looking all those beautiful photos from the people who really dit it and gain excellent body i came up with a question. Now that i'm trying to lose weight is the exercise good?and what should anyone do? just aerobic exercises? I can't get on the treadmill i feel like mice in the lab. Are the heavy things for us? Are abdominal exercises suitable???

Do some strength training to maintain LBM as you lose weight.

Do whatever other activity(ies) you enjoy if you want. It can be anything really...dancing, running, hiking, martial arts, exercise classes etc. Basically, anything that gets you moving.

With regard to weight loss, you do not need to do cardio but it will help with creating a deficit/allow you to eat more, as well as having other benefits.

Don't really worry about ab exercises specifically - do a well rounded strength training routine.

You can lose solely by eating at a deficit. However, you will look and feel better if you do a combination of cardio and resistance training. Find something you love and do it. Try a Hip Hop or Spinning class if the treadmill isn't for you. Find a hilly area and hike. Get a bike. Hit the freeweights at the gym and get to lifting. Try something of the lower weight circuit stuff on Fitness Blender or BeFit. Anything to get you moving, just be sure to do cardio and resistance.

Doing something you enjoy will help keep your motivation. I make up my own workouts combining cardio strength and abs and do them either in my lounge room or on my balcony and I have got some good results. Also just generally trying to move more can make a big difference; eg go for a walk in your lunch break, park in the furthest car park from the shops, walk t0 places where you can. Also utilise tv time as exercise time; eg do a workout or even just some jumping jacks or something while watching tv.

    Good Luck

I exercise a lot. And I can't do the gym either. I mean, not for cardio. I will probably get a membership later this winter and a personal trainer for weight lifting, but can't afford it at the moment. Just got a part time job and am saving up, whoo hoo!! But anyway, yes, exercise is awesome. It isn't really responsible for much direct weight loss, but it makes you look and feel so much better. I lost my first 50 pounds with no exercise, just diet, because I had a knee injury. After it was healed, I started working out, just really lightly at first. I mean, all I could do was walk about a half mile three days a week and do 30 minutes of Wii Fit three other days a week. I worked up from there. I added weights for resistance when the Wii Fit got too easy, then later on I added a riser to the step for step aerobics. I added kettlebells for strength training. When I got lighter, I started running with the Zombies, Run! 5K training app. Finished my first 5K in May. Bought a bike, and started doing that for some of my cardio. When I got under 235 pounds, I started kayaking. My current schedule is working out twice a day, six days a week. M - W - F AM I do strength training with kettlebells and some body weight fitness like pushups, planks, etc, and dumbbell work targeting my forearms. M - W - F evenings I go kayaking. T - R - Sa AM I go bike riding. 4 miles on Tuesday and Thursday because I have to get back before my husband leaves for work so someone will be with the kids, but a longer one on Saturday. T - R - Sa evenings is more cardio. Tuesday I go through a ropes obstacle course at the boathouse where I have a membership for kayaking. Thursday I go on a 5K fun run with a local running club and there's beer after! (Yay, beer!) and on Saturday I do something active with the family. We might go for a long walk, or to the zoo, or hike the nature center. Sundays I really, really, really try to keep as a rest day, but sometimes I really need to get out for a walk or kayaking or something. Most of this stuff isn't "exercise" to me, it's just fun stuff I could never do before because I was too big. So, it's not hard to keep up with.

IMO, do something you like and most importantly, you know you'll be able to keep doing forever. Forcing yourself to do something you hate to lose weight might work short term, but once you're at goal weight you might not want to keep doing it, and it will be harder to maintain.

Losing weight is 80% diet anyway.

As much as I would love to dedicate hours to working out - because I do enjoy it...I have two kids, a house, a full time job...I try to sneak in at least 30 minutes every day. I also firmly believe in doing something you enjoy or you won't do it. Even if its just a walk for 30 minutes - that movement goes a long way.

I also recommend The Daily Burn if you have wireless in your home. You can stream it through Wii or Xbox or your computer, ipad, etc. There a TON of fun workouts for a reasonable monthly fee. The dance ones are a complete blast and great workouts!

The need to maintain your Lean Body Mass during weight loss is critical, and so therefore exercise is critical. Strength training is probably the most important to maintaining your LBM or even increasing it a little. This may cause you to show a plateau if you are watching the scale too closely, but do not be dissuaded from exercise!! Keeping your LBM up and even throwing in some cardio to boot will in fact burn more calories. This will equal faster weight loss as well as more long term weight loss. Start out at a moderate weight for your strength training. Remember this is a marathon not a sprint! A slow and steady pace, will get you to the finish line!
