Hi all. Second day on plan and I feel good. Yesterday I stayed on track and even took a walk. Today I prepped enough to set myself up for success and have a half hour walk planned at lunch.

I’m a single mama with about 30-60 pounds too many. I am body positive so my self esteem’s ok. I just started to feel sore, tired and might have some signs of insulin resistance so it’s time for some healthy changes.

Pearls of advice are welcome for lasting, slow and steady loss. I’m just focusing on not skipping meals and having healthy choices ready.

    1. Start with the basics - the hows and whys of the process.
    2. Make a plan to fit you, not the other way around.
    3. Keep it simple.

When I finally lost the weight for good and maintained my loss it was because I finally realized I needed to ignore any diet hype and that small sustainable changes lead to large long term results. So my advice is to do just that, make small changes that you know you can stick with and stick with them.

It can get tempting, especially since losses can be rapid in the beginning and then drastically slow or stall for periods of time, to look to ways others have said work for them to speed things up (large calorie deficit, no alcohol, vegan, paleo, high carb, low carb, IF, cabbage soup diet, keto etc). Ignore anything with too much hype and through trial and error find the types of foods and method of eating that work best for YOU and YOUR body and satiety levels. Track your food (at least in the beginning) to make sure that you are eating at a reasonable deficit, find some kind of physical activity (anything you enjoy) that you can integrate into your daily life, and get on the scale regularly to trend your weight and I think you'll be successful. Good luck!

Side Note- That sandwich looks amazing!

I was literally going to say almost the exact same.
Don't overdo it in the beginning, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
