Help in getting stated!!

New to MFP and trying to diary/ log foods but confused. It’s asking me the calorie count and container (?!!) no idea what that is. I joined so that it wd work it out for me and spent all morning trying to figure it out with no luck. Was hoping it was going to be simple. So searching for the foods I ate for breakfast but it’s coming up can’t find avocado?! How does that work

Hi, say you had a banana at breakfast, i’d type it in search choose the closest and select, (calories, amount) it should add to your food diary so you can just tap to add next time. If you have soup for lunch, you could scan the bar code on the tin.
