Counting macros a lot to lose

Has anyone that had a lot to lose...or has a lot to lose ever used counting macros to lose weight and gain lean muscle? I absolutely love lifting weights
just wondering how successful you were at it or how current progress is. TIA

    You won't gain much muscle in a calorie deficit, and muscles are lean. To lose weight, you have to be in a calorie deficit. How fast you can lose, depends on how much you have to lose, the size of your calorie deficit, and how faithfully you stick to it. Counting macros can help you stick to a calorie deficit.
