Hello,
My name is Tonya and I'm new to fitness pal. I'm finally down 17 lbs. and I'm very proud of myself. That being said, I'm having a difficult time losing lately. I've started excerising more. So hopefully I'm gaining muscle and still losing fat! Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you deal with it without going nuts??? Thanks so much in advance!

I am in the same boat. I have lost 18 pounds, but I stayed the same for a month, then dropped 3 pounds. I am again staying the same. I am 5 pounds from my goal which is why I think it is slowing down so much. I have a difficult time eating all of my calories without going over on my protein, which I have to limit due to kidney stones. Someone on here posted something since I began in March that explained what to expect at each stage of your weight loss journey. They said to expect plateaus at certain points. You may be able to find the info by doing a search on the topic in the forum. Hope that helps.0

I was having a hard time loosing weight initially. I was working out daily and eating a combo of low calorie/;low carb and couldnt understand why i wasnt loosing very much. I came across an article that talked about how your body has different points where it gets "comfortable" maintaining the weight even if you're doing everything right. (this is different for everyone) The article said that the only thing you can do is just keep focused and eventually your body has no other choice but to release the weight... even though i was discouraged, i followed their advice and stuck with it... -21 lbs later, i'm glad i did... good luck to you!0

Thank you so much for the support! That makes me feel a bit better about me not losing weight. My goal at first was to lose 20 pounds, but now I'm realizing to get the results I want I'll have to lose at least 30. So, hopefully this ends quickly so that I can start seeing more results from my hard work. As you both know, it's not easy to turn down food you love, and get off your butt and go jogging after a hard days work.... Thanks again!0
