Hi folks just a over a week into this but down 4lbs so far

Ive been allowing myself 100 calories as a treat so
rationing the Easter treats OH is amazed as made box of jelly beans last 9 days and counting.

What's really surprised me is the money left in my pocket from not having they 3pm Costa or treat on the go

Not really...we eat out quite a bit less and save some money there, but we also started eating a lot more fish and whatnot which isn't cheap.

My spending is about the same.
I'm buying more of some things and less of others.

We have definitely saved money by eating out less, it’s much easier for us to eat healthy at home than out to dinner. Nice work on your progress!

I have teenage boys so we still have snacks in the house. I find they last a lot longer $$ now that dad isn't raiding the pantry so often--LOL

Congratulations on erasing 4 pounds! I do eat out less now that I am watching what I eat however eating healthy cost quite a bit more than eating the not so good for us stuff. I am doing what I can however I feel it is worth it to for me to spend a little more to live a healthier life.

So double congrats to you for your weight loss and on being able to also stack some extra cash! Good Stuff!

I lived in poverty for a while and a lot of those habits stuck. (I can do amazing things with beans.) For the most part, I keep myself on $125/month for food, plus $25 for sundries (soap, cleaning supplies, shampoo, etc.) For my area this is very cheap, but I eat a nutritious diet and am sufficiently hygenic to avoid most disease, so...the system works. I think if I were a drinker and meat-eater I'd spend a *lot* more on groceries. That's where they get ya.

I've found since we are meal prepping, we save from not eating out. But we do spend more each trip at the grocery store, but I only go once a week, instead of the every other day like we used to. I also notice we throw less away, so overall we definitely spend less.

I definitely save money due to not eating out as frequently or grabbing as many treats. I still eat fast food occasionally but a decade ago, I used to really be in the habit of grabbing fast food breakfast a couple times per week, plus Starbucks in the afternoons, and that is rare for me now.

I spend way less on food now. I don't know if it's because I eat out less frequently, or because I eat less overall, or because I cook more from scratch, or because I don't throw anything out, or a combo.

    Net, yes.
But I had some really pricey guilt habits. I'd go spend crazy amounts of money on sugary/fatty delicacies. My regular grocery shopping bill is higher, now, since I'm buying better food (more wild-caught fish, organic meat, organic veggies, higher quality milks...etc).

We were saving money from not going out but hubby has started lifting (yay I'm a good influence!) so we are buying more protein for him :)
