So, as stated I’m wondering if anyone here has tried Lcarnitine. I’ve been prescribed it for a medical condition unrelated to weight but when I did some research about it I found people use it for weight loss?
So my question is, have you used it/heard of it and does it work?

Examine.com is always worth checking for unbiased, evidence-based information:
https://examine.com/supplements/l-carnitine/
Excerpts:Theoretically, ALCAR supplementation for fat burning should work well, but studies on ALCAR in isolation do not show very good results. Fat loss is typically attributed to the increased activity done by people, from the increased energy they have from ALCAR supplementation...
...There appears to be a fat reducing effect of L-Carnitine supplementation, but this may be limited to elderly persons; limited studies in otherwise healthy youth and adults fail to note an effect.3 -
Can I ask why your doctor prescribed it? I have a thing called fat mal absorption, and Carnitine is involved in lipid oxidation. So I'm curious why your doctor ordered this!! I don't trust doctors but yours prescribed a non prescription solution?. That's potentially really baddass. I do my own research. Your case seems interesting. If you're willing to tell the story, I'm curious.0

I have ME and my oxygen doesn’t go into my cels. I’m not very good at explaining, sorry, this is my second language, but my muscles are in a constant state of “acidification” (not sure if that’s the right word, used google translate)
The oxygen levels in my blood are fine and also my lungs are fine but the acidification is a sign that the level in my cells aren’t high enough.
Since I’ve been taking it my energy levels have gone up a bit so it is definitely working but I’m also curious to the science side of it. My doctor did explain it a bit but that was mostly for my dad since he’s not very good at biology
