Hey guys! So I'm about 184 pounds and suddenly I've been getting knee pain in my left knee. It occurs when I squat, do a bridge and other more random moments. It just started over this weekend and I'm about a week back into exercising again after taking a two week long break. The pain is in the front of my knee. I'm getting an orthopedic doctor to look at it this week but I was wondering if you guys have experienced anything similar, have any advice on what to do or have any recommendations on what sort of exercise to do (if any at all). Thanks guys!

Rest! Especially with knees don't experiment untill you know what is wrong. Knee pain can have many sources. What may help for one might make it worse for an another. When I had issues with my knee I had to rest.

Don't continue doing any exercise that contributes to the pain. I did have something similar actually. Was going along fine and then one day woke up and could barely walk. They thought it was a meniscal tear, but it was actually the patella not tracking properly/trying to track outside the groove. I had been doing Zumba a couple times a week and that is most likely what caused it to flare up. I ended up doing several weeks of physical therapy. I learned a lot about which movements can irritate the patella. I also iced and elevated that knee every time I exercised for several months afterwards, and I still occasionally do if I think I've had a higher impact workout. I agree that you should give it a rest.

    Knees are tricky!
I've had major injuries that didn't hurt much (patella fracture) and minor injuries (fat pad impingement) that hurt a lot.
I've also had referred pain so that the outside meniscus that was virtually torn off (90% needed to be removed) presented as pain on the inside of the knee.

Don't aggravate it and wait for your diagnosis would be my advice.

As everyone else is saying, be careful. Don't do anything that causes pain, try not to walk and run too much. Swimming and biking (without standing up on the bike) is probably fine if you feel like you need to do anything, but be careful until you see the doctor.

My back and knees don't like squats so I don't do them. Running used to bother them when I had the no pain no gain attitude and would go from zero running to a three mile run. When I would gradually start and slowly add miles I could get all the way to a half marathon with no pain. Like the others I would rest up and talk to the doctor so you don't do more damage.

Sounds similar to what happened to me. after 2 weeks off, you've probably lost more capacity than you think. Step back your loads by a bit.

If it's happening during warmup sets/loads, definitely want to see a doctor.

Nobody could possibly know over the internet.

Chances are you have bad form with your squat and/or you have a tear in your tendon which most people do or its just random pain that will go away eventually.
