Hi I'm 27 years old and after 6 years of an unhealthy job working shift work and weighing in at 278 at my heaviest.

I decided to get my weight back down and get rewarded with some visible muscle while I was at it.

I started working out back in February and have already lost 10 pounds. I used to think after being laid off from said job that I wouldn't be able to cope with such a dramatic change in my lifestyle.

I've begun to change my mind about that. All I had to do was change a few habits here and there a little at a time.

Where I once pulled in the drive thru at your local fast food joint and ordered the biggest most fatty sugary nightmare, I downsized to the next smaller thing. And so on and so forth. Then I stopped with the sodas, then sides like French fries. Now when I see a big mac it literally makes me sick to think of eating that! And I found healthy things to cook at home that I actually like eating. All it took was a little experimenting.

When I used to give up on working out because I was scared of being in pain or getting sick. I strapped on the head phones and listened to music that made me want to workout and give it my all! Not to mention allowed my stress to be my motivation. Soon there was no more dizziness, no more overwhelming soreness the next day. Now I run a 12 minute mile and can climb stairs at a very fast pace and finish my sets while going heavier and heavier.

I guess what I'm trying to say is no matter how you feel about working out or eating better. Just find a way and do it anyways.

I know I still have a very long road to travel but I feel more committed now than I ever have and all I had to do was find my own way to make it happen.

I wish the best of luck to everyone in their journey and I hope this helps motivate some of you to not give up and to just keep trying until something good happens.
