Hi, I have been in this game for a year, down 12 lbs, not alot but the keyword is down! The trouble is all the tracking and planning just gets blahh and I break away and as a result slow progress. I get it, this is a choice. How do you all stay in the game for the long haul of life??

When I get bored tracking, I've stepped away for a week or so. My weight generally goes up a bit in that time and I'm reminded of why I track. I stay on MFP a lot, reading the forums and keeping the whole thing top of mind. There's a lot to learn about and I always have questions. If I'm feeling like my calories or macros are not right, I will play with them and create new meal plans for myself - logging a few days in advance to help me stick to it without being on my phone all the time. Good luck; I hope you find what you need to keep going, 12 pounds lost is great!0

Logging and planning is not the goal, it's a method to eat less, and eating less is your goal. Logging for a year should (but doesn't always) have given you a rough idea of appropriate portions. Keep your routines meaningful and simple. If you're willing to eat less, and know how much you need, you just have to plan so that you have enough of the food you want to eat, at the right time.3
