track calories or habits

So I'm not a newbie to MFP but I kinda feel like one. You see, I have never been consistent with tracking calories. So I was thinking, should I continue tracking calories even though I haven't been consistent or should I switch to trying to change some of my bad habits? Which would be more beneficial? I realize that if I don't consistently track my calories I will not learn from my mistakes. But would it be better to track my habits since it would be easier and I could do that on a regular basis. Thanks for the help!

Changes in habits, slowly — over time — are really a key to success. But I have to add that tracking is how I figure out which baby habit to practice next.
What do you think most prevents you from tracking. Folks here might have some suggestions if you can identify that!1 -
You might find that by logging your food accurately that the things you thought of as bad habits were not at all.
You also might find that by logging your food accurately that some things you thought were not bad habits actually were. Logging your food accurately is the truth. You need that.2 -
Snacking after dinner and eating too much between lunch and dinner are my worst bad habits.0
