Does anyone else work out hard and not feel it the next day? Normally, I am sore for a couple of days but last night I did Suspension Fit (a full-body strengthening and toning class done through resistance training.) and although I was sore / shaking throughout the hour, I don't feel it today...Just curious because I feel / think that I pushed myself pretty hard and I haven't worked out since last year so its not a my body is used to it type of thing.

If that were my case, I wouldn't question it but I sit here all day with the kids teaching (homeschooling) and then in the evening we are at the ball field (every single day) so I just assumed with my under active lifestyle that I should be feeling something. Now as I type this I do notice my back hurts a little but I think that is because at first I used my back and not my core..even still I did enough pull ups and squats that I shouldn't be able to walk / or type right now :(

Soreness the next day does not indicate a good workout or pushing yourself. I only feel sore if I've added something new to my workout program or really strench movements (single leg deadlifts, lunges, single leg squats).. and it usually has nothing to do with how hard my previous workout was.

I never feel that I don't get a good workout in or push hard enough. I get a little sore after making a change in program, increasing weights, but not always. I attribute this to my body getting better at adapting to and recovering from the stress exercise is placing on it.

I guess now as the day moves on, I do feel a little bit of soreness / tightness....Guess I was just expecting more since I haven't done anything in quite some time..Thank you

I think you should check this video/channel out. They explain it pretty well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlGZfIgc6Vk&t=284s

being sore is not an indicator of a good workout. being sore is an indicator that you're doing something new or working your muscles in a way that is unfamiliar. people who workout regularly generally aren't sore, or if they are it's a very mild case of DOMs.

I'd be more concerned if I was sore all of the time, because that would probably be an indicator that I'm sitting on my *kitten* too much and not working.

Thank you everyone.....Yesterday was day 2 and I was sore, actually I still feel it a little this morning in my abs. I guess I have the no pain no gain mentality. Thank you everyone for the input....Looking forward to sticking to it this time Lord willing.

Reconsider that "no pain no gain mentality". It could be a recipe for injuries especially since you're not prone to DOMS.

Normally don't feel any soreness after any workout but been feeling a little soreness in the glutes after doing squats recently.

IMO that's because I've only been doing them once a week. Need to get back to doing them at least twice weekly.

thanks everyone - I have had a mix of "feeling it" and not. I feel like I am making progress (at least I am in there 5 days a week) I have asked the trainers to watch my form (biggest concern really) and am watching my heartrate so I know I am doing enough and doing it right
