The calorie goal is what mfp has calculated you should eat, without exercise, to lose weight at the rate you set. You should eat at least this amount, and add more if you exercise.
What are your stats? With so little to lose, are you already at a healthy weight and just trying to change your body composition? Losing 1lb per week may be a more sensible and sustainable goal, or even considering recomp depending on your current stats.1 -
No one knows. You’ll have to try it. It will help if you use a food scale. But calorie counting is both a science and an art. There are times when it is difficult to get good numbers to work with, so your skill as an estimator will be a factor. There is a significant calorie counting learning curve. Give yourself time to learn the process.
The other thing you should consider is whether you can live with 1500 calories. Success is not just a matter of the strictest self imposed austerity program. The best plan is a plan you will actually stick with.1 -
If MFP gave you 1680 to lose 2lbs a week then why not go with that?
2lbs a week loss might be too aggressive a loss, the weekly loss rate will depend on how much you have to lose.0
