Can anyone suggest any healthy low calorie meal ideas?
I’m on my 9th day of logging and eating healthy and getting slightly bored and unsatisfied with the same old meals...:/ currently my diet consists of foods like eggs, fish(mostly mackerel and tuna) fruit, veggies, spinach, quinoa, avocado, Some cheese, brown bread, Greek yogurt, seeds, nuts. Chicken breast...
Any ideas to liven these ingredients up would be great. Also trying to stick to 1200-1300 cals
Thanks:)

All of meals pretty much go like this -
roasted vegetable 1 (broccoli, brussel sprouts, asparagus or cauliflower)
roasted vegetable 2 (red peppers, carrots, onion or mushroom)
roast veggies together with fresh garlic, salt, pepper and paprika, with a little oil
protein 1 (chicken, beef, shrimp, or fish)
protein 2 (scrambled egg, cheese, cottage cheese, greek yogurt or beans)
cook protein 1 either in the oven or in a pan on the stove top. Season with salt, pepper. Use other seasoning like chili powder, lemon juice, lime juice, cilantro, dill, basil, rosemary, cumin etc as needed.
Plate vegetables, add protein 1, top with protein 2.
Serve with 1 sauce
marinara, salsa, enchilada sauce, mustard, low cal salad dressing, balsamic vinegar, teriyaki sauce, curry sauce, soy sauce, bbq sauce.
I'd suggest pinterest or instagram if you want exact recipes.4 -

All meals can be low calorie if you reduce portion sizes.
Your meals don't have to be low calorie - you have an allowance that you can spend as you see fit. That allowance should be set correctly, adjusted to your size and activity level, not as low as possible.
A healthy diet is balanced and varied, no foods are in themselves healthy or unhealthy, all foods can be eaten in moderation.
A healthy lifestyle includes a relaxed and trusting relationship with food, not just a healthy diet.1 -
- I love making veggie soups in my slow cooker- in my part of the world, it’s starting to get cold, so I’ll be hauling that bad boy out again!
- Also love stir fries. Has to have a good sauce though... I allow for it in my calories, as the rest of the meal is pretty low calorie.
- I’ve been making veggie fritters lately with lots of grated veges, 2 eggs and 4 tablespoons of flour (found that I really don’t need more than that). Serve hot with a little chutney and lite sour cream and they’re delicious!
- Something I haven’t done in ages is a (small) baked potato, topped with something (cottage cheese, tuna, lite sour cream and chopped ham etc) with veggie sticks and hummus on the side.
- I also make pita wraps with lots of fresh veggies (are you noticing a theme here, lol), some ham or chicken breast and either some avocado or salsa for a spread. Great work lunch!
Just a few of my go-tos. Good luck!0 -
