Protein drink

I know there is all sorts of research about how eating breakfast helps with weight loss...blah, blah...but I’m not a big fan of eating breakfast and find that the earlier in the day I start eating, the more I consume overall. But I find that drinking water on an empty stomach makes me feel sick and I’m trying to drink lots! SO what’s your favorite meal replacement/protein shake or something similar that is low in calories but will give me keep me going?

It's true that there's some correlation studies that suggest skipping breakfast is correlated with higher bmi, however the clinical trials have sometimes shown the opposite. examine.com has a summary of the science: https://examine.com/nutrition/is-it-really-that-bad-to-skip-breakfast/. In short, skip breakfast if you want, it doesn't really matter.

All the recent literature actually shows that if you prefer not to eat breakfast, it is just as fine to skip it. I have the same problem as you with the water, and for me it helps to have some slightly above luke-warm water, tea or coffee, or even just one cracker before the water hits my stomach.

I use isagenix Isa lean shakes. I tend to not eat until I'm STARVING and then I over eat on unhealthy stuff. The shakes really help me from over eating at the end of the day. Just remember there is a difference between protein shakes and meal replacement shakes!

Can you stomach a hard boiled egg or a bit of yogurt in the AM? A string cheese?

You don't have to eat breakfast at all, but if you're thirsty and plain water on an empty stomach is a problem, those might be an option. What about a cup of tea, would that go down better?

It's impossible to skip breakfast. Breakfast just means the first time you eat each day. Hence break-fast. But I know what you mean (morning meal). Have you considered a protein or granola bar? I really like the RX bars.

Calorie deficits are what contribute to weight loss. There are plenty of people who practice IF or OMAD and lose weight, but it is because they are consuming less calories during the day. So if you want to eat 1 or 6 meals a day go ahead as long as it fits your calorie goals.

That being said I like the Premier Protein chocolate blended with ice and coffee powder or the strawberries and cream blended with frozen strawberries.

I eat a protein bar and a protein shake on my way to work every morning. I used to not eat anything until lunch time, so this was a huge win for me. It just became a habit that stuck, and it works. Here is an example:

1 Scoop - GNC Pro Performance Amp Whey Isolate (Vanilla Custard Flavor)
1 Protein Bar - I try to shoot for bars with calories around 200 and a protein content of 20-30g.

I just became a big fan of the caramel Premier Protein - very tasty and just what I was looking for in terms of nutritional profile!

What about just coffee with milk? Or a couple pieces of bacon or a microwave breakfast sausage?

I have breakfast usually at 10am if I am hungry but typically I eat an early lunch at 11.30am

I only have coffee or tea in the morning most days.

Some fruit along with yogurt might be more palatable first thing for you.
