I’m new and must have success. I feel miserable! At some point it becomes more about health than looks. Being older it’s my health that has motivated me to say ENOUGH. Must lose before the weight takes its role. Never had a problem until menapause

So many of us never had a weight problem until menopause. You're not alone. But if you are determined to lose the weight then you can do it. Doing it for your health is a great motivator. Looking good when you lose the weight is an added bonus. I've only been back here on mfp for 2 weeks and by counting calories and being careful in my food choices I've already lost over 5 pounds.

I’m 55 and post menopausal but can’t blame it for my weight. I just let myself go over the years. It was for health reasons that I came back to MFP. I’ve been here since 2011 but never really put any major effort into it. Last year my cholesterol went up twice. My doc wouldn’t change my meds, said I needed to eat better. After some soul searching I came back in September with a different mind set and a lot more determination. I’ve managed to lose 43lbs (from 175 to 132). My main goal was to lower my cholesterol though. I’ve done that successfully. At my last doc appt she said all my levels were excellent! She was thoroughly impressed. Needless to say so was I lol. Feel free to add me. (PS if you look at my profile and see less than a 43lb loss it’s because I gained five pounds since last week, I let a couple half gallons of ice cream get the best of me
