Pre work out

Is there a non dairy low calorie healthy pre work out? Lol, and is pre-workout even necessary. If I am trying to lose weight should I stay away from pre-workout?

Pre- workout is essentially caffeine. I have never seen a high calorie, dairy pre-workout though (besides a Starbucks Frapp) so I'm not sure what products you're looking at. It shouldn't hinder your weight loss as it's only about 10 cals a serving.

C4 is pretty popular and it tastes decent. Be careful with the dosage though. If you haven't taken it before, heavily dilute and sip it or else you might get all jittery and itchy.

It's not necessary and a lot of people get enough of a boost from regular coffee.

It's not necessary and has nothing to do with losing weight. You lose weight by eating less calories than you burn.

Atkins protein shakes for me. They are technically dairy free according to a website, but because they have whey and casein proteins, have some lactose. So it's a low-lactose drink. (According to the Atkins company website) I think they helped fuel my workouts and are low calorie.

The best pre-workout thing for me was usually a cup of coffee and 8-10 ounces of water.

As others will tell you, eating before a workout won't slow down weight loss, nor will it speed it up. The timing of food doesn't matter, it's whether you're coming in at your daily calorie goal. If you need to eat something before a workout to keep your energy up, avoid fatigue and stave off a headache or something, by all means do it.
