Well I went in the opposite direction. Originally from nearby in Takoma Park, MD but moved to Texas.

Born, Raised in Gaithersburg, MD right next to Bethesda...good luck with the traffic.
You'll find people there are constantly on the move, it's congested, there's traffic and people just EVERYWHERE.
You go anywhere and it's busy - no matter day of the week - time of day - its busy.

I made the observation that Marylanders in the Montgomery/Frederick/PG County areas are just miserable...and it shows...the stress of traffic and dealing with the mass of people is just enough to make you miserable.

We relocated - though I say we 'escaped' to Wilmington, NC 12 years ago!

I am from Mount Airy, Maryland and am familiar with the area. The traffic is pretty intense. I am in Winchester, Virginia now and it is much better and cheaper.
