It’s been a while

So as the title states, it’s been a while since I last posted anything. It been over a year actually and yet I’ve continued to use this app everyday in the meantime. However I will have to confess I haven’t used it properly every day. In my one of previous posts I mentioned about gaining my period back and everyone seemed to assume that I was a middle aged woman perhaps going through menopause... truth to say when I lost my period I was 16 turning 17. I am now a 19 year old girl still concerned with her body imagine but a lot healither. Both mentally and physically in terms of food and nutrition. I recently started my adult journey by moving to university in student accommodation and I am completely in change of what I eat (within budget #brokestudent). I was worried before that when I got to uni I wouldn’t eat at all because I wouldn’t want to buy expensive food or spend any money at all to be honest. But I have managed to maintain a steady weight for a good few months regardless of how much I choose to eat - whether it be a lot or not much at all.
A lot has happened in the last year, not only did I pass my A Levels and get into my dream University, I scored my dream guy. He has made me feel really happy about my body and actually encouraged me to get a bikini that I intend to use for the first time this summer, once the sun comes out. I have to say he’s probably not the healthiest eater in the world, but he has a much better metabolism than I do, lucky him!
I mentioned that I have not used to app properly; I got a part time job to help with living expenses whilst at uni. Unfortunately this job is at a pizza franchise... I never want to eat pizza again! In my first few months at uni I wanted to save money so I used to get free food from work. Sad to say this food is not nutritious! Despite it tasting good at the time, it leaves you feeling bloated and guilty, that exact feelings I was trying to avoid. I also was given free pizza vouchers at uni! So it meant whenever my boyfriend came to visit (two days a week) me at uni we would use the free pizza, free garlic pizza bread and free cookie vouchers that I was given but all the employees would let me take the vouchers back since I worked there. Thus we had pizza two times a week... let’s just say you CAN have too much of a good thing, as I went to A & E a couple months after being at uni . Not because of drinking too much but to my poor diet.
I was born with a duplex kidney...it’s a long sorry to explain but I need to avoid salt basically to keep them healthy. Unfortunately the amount of processed food I was eating was sickly and full of salt, meaning that I called my Mum to pick me up and take me to hospital. Fortunately my dream University is only 30 minutes away from home, 20 minutes if you’re driving as a panicked Mum at midnight - love you Mum. So I spent the night in A & E with my Mum.
My point being, I never noted the amount of junk food I was eating because I knew that I was eating more calories in one sitting than I should consume in one day! So after learning my lesson the hard way not to eat junk food on a regular basis - even though everyone knows that you should not - I told myself that it was okay to spend more money on food. Since then I have changed my calorie limit to a higher figure and made sure that I always have fresh fruit and veggies in my fridge. So I have managed to stay a constant healthy weight with having a few ‘naughty’ foods within the day, not just have huge cheat days instead.
But my next struggle is now I’ve found that my boyfriend has got the MyFitnessPal app. Now I’m very pleased that he wants to focus a little more on his eating habits, but I remember when I first got the app - it was controlling and I didn’t want to eat a lot. I hope he uses it properly and maybe we can work together on our diets. I’ll keep you posted.
Thank you everyone

Might want to put this in the general section.2

Since food is such a big part of your life, you and your boyfriend would benefit from discussions surrounding the MFP app and food and diet in general. My thoughts.1

Good luck with your degree course - seems to me you are already dealing with your eating habits! The wide availability of cheap junk food is hard for the general population but can be a killer for cash strapped students - just remember, veg can be cheap (protein less so I know) and stir fry is quick. You however have got this2
