Weather?

I live in Ontario Canada and up until this past weekend we've had a super cold April with the weather hovering around the freezing point. Two weekends ago there was an ice storm and it was stressful as I had family members travelling and I baked a carrot cake and indulged in salt snacks and I quickly gained 3 lbs.

I completly expected them to disappear just as quickly like they always do when I get back on track. So I've been super active, drinking lots of water and eating at a deficit, but those three pounds won't budge!! I know it seems silly, but this is very strange for me, but now I should be down a solid pound. And I've been doing this for 10 + years (always used cc to lose weight after babies) so this is not my first parade.

Are you asking if the weather is causing weight gain or not to be able to lose? The only thing the weather does is cause us to move less therefore maintaining on a lower calorie intake than when we are more active on other seasonal months. Couple that with eating more calories than your normal diet would equal weight gain.

Set your calorie deficit in MFP to lose .5/week. Are you weighing your food intake? Using accurate entries from the database? Give your changes to reduced calorie intake and activities at least 4 weeks.

Interesting...I googled it and apparently you do retain more water when the weather gets warmer. Likely not what my issue is...but knowing that I will be a few pounds heavier in the summer than I am in winter is still nice to know.
