Calories in a taco shell for a taco salad

I ate the shell for a taco salad and am trying to figure out how many calories it is. I looked it up in the MyFitness Pal database and a previous thread someone started. The estimates I found are 200-350 calories. This just seems really low to me because 28 grams of tortilla chips is 130-140 calories and the taco shell looks like 4 servings to me, which is almost 600 calories. Plus I was really full after eating it, so that leads me to believe it was a lot more then 350 calories.

I didn't have a food scale with me at the restaurant.

It was a taco salad like this:

Taco Bell's Fiesta taco salad's shell is 310 calories so 300-350 for the shell on average sounds right....

I'd guess 500 - 600 calories for the shell. It's a full sized, burrito tortilla (usually around 250-350 calories) covered in butter and then deep fried in oil. Tortillas are good "sponges" for soaked up liquid, so it holds the oil pretty well. Usually in restaurants, taco salads are over 1000 calories and the majority of those come from the shell.

Taco Bells taco salad is 770 calories.
I think it depends on the size of the tortilla for the calories, but the oil really ups the calorie count on the shell.
You can make them in your oven with very little added calories, of course they don't taste as good :)

Yes but the Taco Bell shell alone is 310.
