I'm Not Losing Weight Anymore!

Hello MFP friends,
Here's my story....... In January of this year, I decided to lose weight for my boyfriends 30th big birthday bash. His birthday was the end of April. Therefore I had about 4 months to lose. My goal was to lose 20lbs. I lost 25lbs!! (yay me!) However since then, its like my body just stopped losing!! Literally since the day of his party, I have not lost anymore weight. I went from 210 to 185. My goal is to get down 170, so I only need 15 more to go!! I haven't lost weight in 4 months! I don't eat the best, however I try to stay under calorie goal of 1200 a day. I've actually been eating healthier now than before. I try to eat healthy everyday, doesn't always happen. I go to the gym about 2-3 times a week. I haven't really changed any routines since I started my weight loss, so not sure why I'm not losing anymore. Any advise??? Thanks!

Sounds like you hit a plateau (possibly a bit of both physical and mental).
Try shaking it up for example try eating a minimum of your 1200 calories a day and/or then varying the number you eat each day.
Try looking at the foods you are eating...are you in a food rut?
Try changing up your exercises -- try something new or just increasing the intensity or time you are doing it.
I hit a 6 month plateau once so I had to look for the non-scale victories. During that time I dropped sizes before the scale started moving again.
Oh and I forgot congrats on your loss (and maintianing it).0 -
Not likely that 1200 calories is enough but if you aren't logging consistently or sticking to it then it's hard to say if it's working or not. What you eat isn't really as important has how much you eat so there's some other reason for no loss.0

This! I ran into the same problem...started eating more and the pounds started falling again. It's definitely a mental struggle (eat more = lose more)...but I promise, it works. Feed your body right and exercise, the rest will fall into place.0 -
Thanks All! I will definitely try to change it up. Maybe up my calories to 1400. Eat more, but good more! and stay exercising.
Thanks again!0
