Hey everyone,
Does anyone else use an e-cig of some kind or vape and have any ideas about logging that? I'm sure there's added calories there that I'm not aware of, but I don't know if it's negligible or not. It's like inhaling sugar, though, no? So it should be logged, right?
Thanks!

I vaped when I quit smoking.
I became friends with the owner of a very popular shop and even attended conventions with them to help their marketing team. They all said that you're not inhaling sugar, it doesn't work like that. Google the ingredients, make a list. Then go online and check each item on your list. You'll see exactly what it is made of. Each brand will use a variety of ingredients but none of mine had any sugar. Start doing your homework, you'll be surprised.6 -
I don't vape, but this interested me enough to do a quick search on it. I wasn't able to find some definite answer, but I doubt you need to worry about logging this.0

Might be an issue if you're drinking your e-juice rather than inhaling/exhaling it - there are apparently 4-5 calories per ml. But since you're inhaling/exhaling it in vapor form, the current evidence (as far as I can find) is that calorie intake, if any, is negligible.
Anecdotally, I've vaped throughout my weight loss and maintenance, and haven't seen any effect upon my weight from it.6 -

lolololol @ the "if you're drinking your e-juice" lololol. Fair point. Thank you for this! I appreciate it! I did research this like a long time ago but then stopped vaping and also stopped trying to lose weight, so I thought I'd ask just in cases. Thank you!0 -
i lost 100 pounds and am still losing, using an e cig.
whatever MIGHT be in it, would be negligible3 -
I’m vaping right now
I didn’t smoke before but the medication that I am on makes me hungry. I vape 0mg. It gives me something to do instead of eat. I don’t worry about the calories, in fact I never even thought about it until I saw this thread. It’s not for everyone but I’m don’t judge. I have different flavors so if I want something sweet, I vape sweet. If I’m nauseous, I vape peppermint. It has worked for me...again, not advocating, just being honest.

I vape, sometimes I even chain vape if I’m working on a stressful report for work. It’s had no effect on my weight loss1

you're not eating it.
or if you are, you're doing it wrong0 -

@mbaker566. I’m sorry but this made me laugh so hard...it reminds me of the Geico commercial where the elderly woman is trying to put actual pictures on Facebook

I vape and was never a smoker. I have lost over 100 pounds. The sweetner in E-juice is not sugar. My son mixes and he has also lost a whole bunch of weight (I think over 60 pounds). I wouldn't worry about it.1

that is so interesting, I've never met a vaper who wasn't a smoker before. And now I've spotted at least two on this thread.
I've vaped for years, but now have vaped exclusively for over two, having stopped smoking. I am now down to the lowest nicotine percentage before dropping to zero. I think any impact is negligible calorific-ally. It certainly outweighs the potential "snacking" from quitting the real ciggies.

@sytchequeen I enjoy the flavors and it takes the edge off when I’m hungry but can not eat. I love sweet flavors but peppermint helps when I nauseous0
