Festival Food - Keeping Healthy

Hey everyone, my name is Becky and ive just graduated with a degree in nutrition. this summer i've been working at a lot of music festivals and it has been so difficult trying to keep healthy and eat properly and so i was going to try and create a kind of guide with tips, recipes, vlogs and new products that people can follow if they were to go to a festival. I was just generally trying to gather opinions to see if it's worth doing? also if anyone has any tips that they want to share then that would be awesome as im off to leeds fest soon!

YES! This has been my struggle the past two years. Both years I've tried to bring enough food/snacks to last me all but one meal (usually dinner), but I always end up at my friends' campsites snacking on their chips and cookies. I don't have a ton of willpower I guess, haha.

BUT, I always make sure to bring just enough that I don't have any extra: peanut butter, bread, apples, nuts, cereal. I divide the cereal into individual servings, one per morning, and measure out the peanut butter before I leave and only bring 2 tablespoons per sandwich. I don't bring any extra bread. Same for the nuts: an ounce per day. And then two apples per day.

And then when I buy my meal, I try to make it relatively healthy-- and luckily I find that at festivals that often isn't too hard, because there are so many health-minded people there! I have no problem finding quinoa salads, stuff with fresh veggies, etc.
  • hey thanks for your comment, sorry it has taken me a while to reply! Yes i dont have any willpower either but leeds festival will be 3 weeks into my diet and so i dont want to set myself back! The idea of peanut butter is brilliant especially measuring it out! I will try that. Im going to be experimenting with recipes next week to try and create a high energy, almost cereal like bar to keep me going in the arena all day. The nuts is a great idea, they would keep well in the tent.
