So, obviously I know the standard rule is to not eat 2 hours before bed. I am a college student and I work full time. I get home pretty late around 10:40 and I am starving once I walk into the door. Should I eat refrain from eating so later or eat heavier during the day? Any suggestions will help! Also note that I will be starting to workout after coming home. What do I do?

Why is that a rule? I eat a snack in bed most nights with zero issues...8

I wouldn’t worry about that 2 hour thing!5

There is no standard rule. You should eat when ever time permits, as in it suits your eating style and schedule.6

I eat at whatever time I want, so long as I stay within my macros. However, I do also intermittent fast, so the later I eat, the later I have to eat the next day. But I find it easier and more enjoyable to have my late night meal or snack even if it means I can't eat until lunch the next day so that is what I do. At the end of the day, what really counts IMO is how many net carbs and how many calories you consumed in a 24 hour period. Best of luck.2

My blood sugar prefers that I do eat closer to bed time.0

Good news! That’s not the rule.
The rule is do what works for your body and your life.

Do whatever works best for you.1

The only reasons you should stop eating that early are if eating late causes issues sleeping, such as GERD, or if you've eaten all of your calories.4
