Protein

I do not eat meat and hate tofu and not a fan of beans. Is it bad to have 2 protein shakes a day (mixed with water or skim milk..25g protein 2g carbs) so I dont lose out?

No. Do what you need to do.

It isn't bad, but there are other sources of protein that you can incorporate, as well. ~ Here's a start:

There's nothing wrong with using protein shakes to help meet your protein needs, but you might also want to check out tempeh and seitan. They're both high in protein.

When I lived in a vegetarian community we had tempeh and seitan a lot. I especially liked seitan.

Yeah, I especially like it because when you make your own you can control the flavor/sodium level and make it exactly how you prefer it.

Also Greek yogurt! I love fage with berries in it!
Brand makes a difference too. I thought I didn't like Greek yogurt because I only had tried Wegmans for making tzaziki sauce but then I tried fage and it was much better.
Cottage , feta, goat cheese I also use frequently because they are high in protein compared to the calories.

I can easily make a frittata with eggbeaters Greek yogurt and feta and it will easily have 30-50 grams of protein in it.

I like soy meats (nothing like tofu), seitan, tvp, quorn, eggs and yoghurt/milk. Also have you tried different beans? Chickpeas, lentils, baked beans even?

While I do have protein powder every day, I'd feel like I was missing out if that was my main source of protein.

How many different ways have you tried beans? Someone who doesn't like (vegetarian) Cuban Rice & Beans might like Indian Dal or Kitchari, or vice versa.
