Determining active level?

I'm trying to place myself in an appropriate active level for weight loss. I have looked up the four different ranges, sedentary (which I am not), lightly active, active and very active. According to my fitbit step count, I typically fall under very active. However, fitbit's graphing chart for active minutes shows most of it being light and rather minimal for fairly to very active. I'm pretty sure the active minutes graph correlates to intensity.

I'm a little confused to how active I really am. Although I don't place myself as a person who sits all day, I don't consider myself to be extremely active either. My average daily step count is 18,000 to 22,000. Active time graph averages: light to be 7 hours per day.

If I hit fairly active or very active for the day, I achieve an average of two hours. I have not consistently hit those marks.

If you sinc your fitbit then it doesn't matter what activity level you put as it will give you extra calories when you are active anyway?

This! If you count your steps then it is automatically loaded into your activity level. I don't count my steps, I sit at a desk all day at work but if I go for a walk or run then I do mapmyrun or mapmywalk and get my calorie count that way.
