Hello everyone, I just started my profile on here yesterday. I got my sister to add a profile also. :) I have been using the calorie calculator, though, for about a month now.

Here is my story.
I weighed a healthy weight of 155 going into college at age 18. (I am 5'8") I started to gain "The Master's Twenty" when I started my M.Ed. (I graduated with my B.A. in 3.5 years). The Master's Twenty hit, and now that I have graduated with my M.Ed. (took me 1.5 years :) ) I am 23 and weigh 175 pounds. I am now wanting the pounds back off and back to a healthy weight. It astounds me that I would let myself gain this much weight since I have always tried to be pretty healthy, but sitting down and reading and writing papers all the time (and once in awhile, ok fine a lot of the while) watching tv just does not burn that many calories. Also I was eating junk food. I can not cook AT ALL. So now that I am living with my Boyfriend and he cooks for me we are trying to eat healthier supper meals. My biggest problem is now I have a job (my first full time job) that I live 30 min from and I work 8 - 5. By the time I get home in the evenings (a little after 5:30 due to traffic) I am very tired and not motivated to work out or do anything. I am happy to have joined this network and hopefully it will help me to lose the weight and be accountable to somebody other then myself.

If you could let me in on some of your tricks of the trade of weight loss that would be very helpful. I just want to be healthy again and feel good about myself again. Gaining the weight has done a lot on my self confidence. I also need some help figuring out some healthy snacks and food to bring to work in my lunch tote. I like most of my things plain, so that cuts some of the calories right there, but I don't really know what is healthy and what is not. I am trying to bring sandwiches (ham and turkey from the deli) more and some rice on other days. With lays bbq potato chips and some fruit, with some weight watchers pudding. Don't know if that is good or not.

Thank you for all your help, and hopefully this community will help me and I can help encourage others along the way.

Brittany :)
