Am I ready for maintenance? Should I do it?

I've been on a diet non stop for a year and half. Now I seem to be hungrier with whatever I ate even though in the past it kept me full with no problem. I've noticed that I need to consume higher that 2,000 calories for me to be content but my calorie limit is 1,500. And i have also tried tweaking my diet here and there but it doesnt help. I dread the idea to not be on my diet because I dont want to gain weight. But I'm always hungry and therefore hangry. Ive also noticed that it's a little harder for me to lose weight. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it's time for a diet break. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10604863/of-refeeds-and-diet-breaks10

open your diary so we can see what youre eating.
for me, protein and fats are what keep me satiated (though its different for everyone), and i eat less than you, even when I eat back some exercise calories.
Also, looking at it as a 'diet' is almost a sure way to fail. You have to learn how, and how much to eat, PERIOD.2 -

^This. If you're not where you want to be yet, definitely take a diet break and then resume your diet while incorporating refeeds.2 -
And do you lose weight on 2000 calories?
But yes, diet break.0
