Any shrub/landscape experts here?

We had some landscaping done last week and one of our garden plots they took out a low juniper...well today I noticed when I was watering around that area outside of the new border they put in, that it looks like some of the juniper plant was growing thru the grass...ack how do I completely get rid of it ? It is like a weed that won't go away:_
