I have hip bursitis. It's officially diagnosed. Any tips on getting over this as soon as possible?

so heart breaking because about 2mths ago I wanted to start training for running again but my doctor has straight up said "no weight bearing exercises"

Anyone deal with this? is it a life long sentence?

I might need a few words of encouragement.

    I have this as well right now. My doctor gave me a steroid injection and told me that I needed to exercise the area and also work on my core muscles to correct my bad posture because my form was likely causing the problem.

    He said it's an acute condition that's fixable.

    Mine said to look up hip bursitis on YouTube & do those exercises. He never mentioned no weight-bearing exercises. Now, I’m curious...

    I had bursitis in the knees and a doctor with a sense of humour. I asked what I could do about it and he told me to stay off my knees for a year. He was about right too. The idea is to stop inflaming the flaming area.

    Would cycling be considered non weight bearing?

    I blew my bursa sac in my knee a few ago. I was told by a doctor that I needed to go hiking and to get my knees up high so they weren't stuff. They were stiff because I have osteoarthritis. He never diagnosed me & so I asked for my primary whole clearly knew what was wrong. The other idoit never listened to me when I tried explaining my symptoms.
    I took ibuprofen for 10 days til the bursa sac calmed down. I was told to start walking to get weight off my knees. One point I was down 10lbs & felt great, but then I tore my meniscus & well I gained it back due to inactivity. I would not do anything strenuous as it could flare up. Use ice to help with inflammation.

    I don't have bursitis, but I have gout. I take hemp seed oil to calm the inflammation, and I eat <25 g of sugar a day to control my body's production of uric acid. I went from having to use crutches every couple of months to walking 5K five time a week. I don't know if bursitis is affected by sugar intake, but you might want to see if the hemp seed oil helps with the inflammation?

    I have bursitis in my right hip. I went to physical therapy and learned through a combination of stretching and core building exercises to relieve the pressure on the hip and by doing so easing the pain. It took about 2-3 months to be free of the pain. I still do these exercises 2 to 3 times a week as a warm up for my workout routine and with a rare exception, I am pain free. You may want to see if there is some activity that aggravates your pain. For me it was using a recumbent exercise bike so I eliminated it from the equipment I use.

    Rest and avoid whatever started it in the first place. Stretching as advised by a PT. You can get a cortisone shot once it calms down. You will probably have to avoid aggravating it forever, yes, but it's manageable.
