I was diagnosed in 2008. My mother had it and my mother's brother has it. Obviously my family has a predisposition to develop the disease. I do not follow the regular treatment, rather, I keep healthy through diet and exercise. Just curious if anyone else has an MS diagnosis...what do you do to keep healthy?

    Hugs, hon!

A friend of mine has it, while I have a different disorder, but we bond over a lot of similarities, and I have to do something similar with diet and exercise to help it, myself, as I am allergic to the medication that I would otherwise take for my disorder.

As for what she does - I know that she saw a study from a year or two ago that found wheat contains a substance that seems to increase inflammation in many RA and MS patients(they speculated it might be similar in other auto-immune conditions, but only those two were studied). We have searched for that study again and it's like it disappeared off the map, so I don't have the details, unfortunately.

But I know she was considering going wheat and/or gluten free to see if that helped.

Paleo / Ketogenic eating has worked amazingly well for me. I used to hit a wall - just immobilized with exhaustion after several busy days in a row— now I can’t remember the last time that happened. Exercise hard when I can, yoga 5 days a week, lots of fresh air and sunshine and keeping my limbs cooled off.
